Update, November 2: Nike GB and Nike Spain list it too, and Nike’s stock shows most sizes still there (How it went, below).
One of the Air Jordan 1’s original 1985 colorways is back. The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Royal” released on Saturday, October 10, as a SNKRS draw, at $185 for men’s sizes.
Smooth leather again
The layout hasn’t moved: black leather on the base of the upper, Game Royal on the perforated toe, Swoosh, heel and collar flap, a white midsole and a royal outsole. The change is the leather. The 2017 pair used a tumbled leather; this one goes back to a smooth finish, which is closer to how the shoe looked in 1985.
It’s also the first time the Royal has come back as a straight High OG in leather since 2017. The 2023 Royal Reimagined swapped in suede and a vintage-toned midsole, and it split opinion. The box and wrapping paper carry Chuck Kuhn’s 1985 photo of Michael Jordan in the Royals on an airport runway.
Can you still get a pair?
In the US it’s now on Nike’s product page. Foot Locker, Finish Line, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Hibbett and Shiekh carried it too. Kids’ sizes were $140 GS, $85 PS and $70 TD.
The UK and Spain have it on Nike GB and Nike Spain, on sale since the same day.
How it went
A full-family Jordan retro with a big run across Nike and the mall chains had more pairs than a collab or a limited High OG, and it shows. On November 2, Nike’s US stock still had 15 of 18 sizes, all of them deep. In Europe, 12 of 16 sizes were left. If you’re paying resale, $185 is the retail price to measure it against.
