Aminé’s latest New Balance collab moves to the Made in USA 992. It dropped first through his own Club Banana store on October 2, then reached New Balance and select retailers on Friday, October 9, at $219.99.
Oregon’s Outdoor School
The “Outdoor School” name comes from Oregon’s Outdoor School, the residential science programme that has been taking the state’s kids into the woods since the 1950s. Aminé grew up in Portland. New Balance’s listing says the colours are meant to read as the ground you’d have dug in on that trip. Smooth brown pig suede is the soil; burgundy and dark maroon patent overlays are wood, worms and rocks.
It’s still a Made in USA 992 underneath, with ABZORB in the midsole. The listing names a Club Banana logo on the tongue, Aminé’s signature at the heel, custom insoles, spare laces, a ‘wood cookie’ hangtag and tackle-box packaging.

Who it’s for
Aminé has worked with New Balance before, on the 610 “The Mooz” and the 2000 “Biblioteca”, and this one had a week’s head start through Club Banana. If New Balance still shows your size, $219.99 is the price to measure anything else against. More from the brand on our New Balance page.
