Update, November 2: Nike GB and Nike Spain have sold it since October 15, the same day as the US (How it went, below).
The Jordan Tatum 5 “Sunrise” went on sale on Nike.com on Thursday, October 15, at $135. China had it first, from September 24, in full-family sizes.
A Boston sunrise, a St. Louis arch
The Sunrise colours are Bright Concord, Urban Lilac, China Rose and Bright Mango. The deep purple upper fades to pink through a perforated side panel, with a peach-and-pink TPU wrap under the arch and an icy outsole. Jordan says the palette comes from a Boston sunrise.
The heel carries a new treatment of Tatum’s 0, shaped after the Gateway Arch in his hometown of St. Louis. A Sunset colourway follows later. Jordan design director Tony Hardman put the brief simply: “He plays with poise, precision and control.”
The strap
A wide hook-and-loop band crosses the midfoot over the laces. Jordan Brand’s launch notes say it is there to lock the foot down without adding weight. Under the forefoot is a 10 mm Air Zoom unit, and the outsole is herringbone in Nike’s HART 2.0 rubber.
Can you still get a pair?
Yes. In the US it’s on Nike’s product page at $135. Before Nike listed it, the price going round was $125 or $130; Nike’s listing says $135. The UK has it on Nike GB and Spain on Nike Spain.
How it went
It’s an easy buy at retail. On November 2, Nike’s US stock had all 25 sizes, 15 of them deep. Its European stock had 23 of 24. A few early pairs resold above retail on StockX, on a handful of sales that said more about the China head start than about demand here. If you want it for the court, buy at retail: there’s no reason to wait for resale on this one. More from the brand on our Jordan page.
