The NIGO x j-hope x Nike Air Force 1 ’01 in Burnt Sunrise and Metallic Gold released on SNKRS on Thursday, October 22, at $150. The UK and Spain got it the same day. Nike’s launch data lists the US drop as first come, first served, not a draw.
Tokyo meets K-pop
It’s an Air Force 1 ’01, the slimmer 2001 shape, co-designed by NIGO and BTS’s j-hope. Nike frames it as early-90s Tokyo meeting today’s K-pop, in a look Nike’s copy calls “hobicore”. The upper is glossy, enamel-like leather in Burnt Sunrise, with Metallic Gold and brown panels, Chlorine Blue accents and thick braided rope laces.
The squirrel is the signature detail. An embroidered one sits on the lateral heel, and squirrel graphics run across the sockliner. Nike says it stands for j-hope’s energy. The tongue tags carry j-hope and NIGO branding in Chlorine Blue, and a thin blue stripe runs either side of the AIR on the sail midsole.
It follows the HUMAN HOPE apparel the two made through NIGO’s Human Made label.
Can you still get a pair?
From Nike, it’s hard now. Nike’s SNKRS listing is marked inactive. In the UK and Spain, Nike’s SNKRS pages have come down, and its product pages for the pair are on Nike GB and Nike Spain. Watch the SNKRS pages for a restock. If you go to resale, the $150 retail price is the number to measure any ask against.
How it went
A BTS member and NIGO on one AF1 pulled in two big audiences at once. Two days after the drop, Nike’s UK and Spanish product data showed it unavailable. On November 2, Nike’s European stock had 9 of 22 sizes, all running low. Nike’s US stock feed still counted 20 of 25 sizes, though the US launch page is inactive.
