A black Nike Kobe 6 Protro nicknamed “Coals”, a naughty-list counterpart to the Grinch, has been circulating since June in a leaker’s tip and in-hand photos. The date going round is Friday, December 25, at $190. Nike hasn’t announced the shoe, and no shop lists it.
We checked Nike’s own product data in the US, the UK and Spain on November 2. None has a row for IO6261-001, the code the leak gives.
What the photos show
- A black scaled upper with a scattered, ember-like graphic.
- A Swoosh that fades from green to purple, with the colourway given as Black/Venom Green-Purple Venom.
- A translucent outsole.
What we don’t know
- The date. December 25 isn’t on any Nike page or shop listing, so it isn’t confirmed.
- The price. $190 is the leak’s figure, not Nike’s.
- The official name, and how Nike will sell it. Christmas Kobes have gone through SNKRS draws before, but nothing is announced.
Our score of 54 is estimated: Kobe Protros on SNKRS sell through fast, and a Christmas-themed pair usually draws a bigger crowd than a regular colorway. More on our Nike page.
The leak was first shared by @brandon1an, and the in-hand photos by Sole Retriever.
