Nike made the LeBron 24 official on October 5, and the headline claim is weight: it calls the 24 the lightest game shoe in LeBron’s signature line. The first colorway, “Stars”, goes on sale worldwide on Tuesday, November 17, at nike.com and select retailers. Nike’s announcement gives the date but no price.
KingKnit, built for him
The upper is a new material Nike calls KingKnit, a knit built only for LeBron’s line from a mix of yarns. It’s meant to keep the foot contained without the bulk of earlier models. In Nike’s photos it reads as a woven, almost scaled teal surface, with black laces and a black overlay low on the side.
Underfoot is a full-length React foam drop-in midsole with Air Zoom units in the forefoot and heel, plus a midfoot shank for support and a new traction pattern. Nike hasn’t published a weight figure, so “lightest ever” is the brand’s comparison, not a number you can check yet.
“The game keeps getting faster, and we designed the LeBron 24 to meet that moment,” says Dorian Pickens, product line manager for Nike Basketball.
The colorways
Nike says the colorways will be grouped around five principles from LeBron’s career. The launch pair sits under the first, built around imagination and belief, and takes its cue from an AAU team LeBron played on as a kid. Nike hasn’t named or dated the colorways that follow.
How to get a pair
- Release: Tuesday, November 17, globally, at nike.com and select retailers, per Nike’s announcement.
- Price: Sneaker Bar Detroit reports $200; Nike hasn’t given a price, so that isn’t confirmed. We checked Nike’s own product data on November 2, and it has no listing for the pair yet.
- UK: included in the global launch; no £ price yet.
If $200 holds, it sits at the top of Nike’s signature basketball pricing, so the weight claim had better be felt on court. More on the brand from our Nike page.
