Update, November 2: Nike US is sold out in every size, and Nike GB and Nike Spain have sold it since October 10 (How it went, below).
Two weeks after the Caitlin 1 debuted, the second colorway arrived. Nike released the “Midnight Fever” on Wednesday, October 14, for $140, the same as the launch pairs.
Two pinks, in steps
It’s pink from toe to heel, but not one pink. The Opticast upper fades from Neo Pink at the toe up to Hot Punch across the collar. The textured scale pattern that covers the whole upper makes the fade read in steps rather than as a flat spray.
The details are the same as the debut pairs. There’s a stacked double Swoosh in black and pink and “22” on the lacing. A blue “CC” logo sits on the tongue, and Clark’s signature on a red plate at the heel. The sole unit is a pale pink, with the “C”-shaped traction pattern underneath.
Under the foot, Nike pairs an Air Zoom Turbo unit with Cushlon foam and adds a midfoot plate for stability, a guard’s setup built for quick stops and pull-ups.
Can you still get a pair?
Not on Nike US any more. Nike’s page is up but has no sizes, so try the Nike Basketball retailers that carried it, such as Foot Locker and Hibbett. Nike sells it as a unisex shoe, so check the size chart first.
In Europe it’s on Nike GB and Nike Spain, where it went on sale on October 10, four days before the US.
How it went
The pink Caitlin 1 sold through. Three days after the drop, Nike’s page was still selling it. On November 2, Nike’s US stock showed all 26 sizes sold out. Nike’s European stock had 5 of 18 sizes left, all running low. $140 is the price to beat if you find one elsewhere.
