SZA’s first full collection as Vans’ Artistic Director is out. Foot Locker’s launch calendar had both pairs from the first “VANSZA” drop, the LX Authentic and the Knu Skool Mule, on Thursday, October 22. Foot Locker’s listings priced them at $110 and $115.
Built to be stepped on
The Authentic is the louder one. A white canvas upper is covered in hand-drawn fish, with frayed raw edges at the collar. Chunky cream laces run through oversized eyelets, and a red stripe sits on a deliberately scuffed sidewall. The heel is built to fold down, a nod to SZA’s habit of stepping on the backs of her shoes, so it doubles as a slip-on. Vans’ own sites call it the Authentic Kickdown.
The Knu Skool Mule goes the other way: classic black suede, the Knu Skool’s puffed tongue, an oversized white 3D Sidestripe and no heel at all. The back is cut away into a mule. The red Vans flag stays on the back of the sole, with VANSZA branding on the side tag and insole.
Vans has been working towards this since naming SZA Artistic Director in 2025.
Can you still get a pair?
Check Foot Locker’s pages for the LX Authentic and the Knu Skool Mule, and Vans directly, before paying more elsewhere. No UK date or £ price was confirmed. Vans’ UK site has a page for the Authentic Kickdown, but we couldn’t read a price on it.
How it went
Foot Locker ran both pairs as app entries, one pair per person and ship-to-home only, in women’s sizing. When we first wrote this, its listings showed $100 each. By October 24, after the drop, they showed $110 and $115. On November 2 we couldn’t read stock on Foot Locker’s pages, which load it in the browser.
SZA’s fanbase reaches well beyond sneakers, but this was a wide Vans and select-retailer launch, and our hype score was 33. Use $110 and $115 as the benchmark if you’re offered a pair second-hand: Vans hasn’t said whether either will be restocked. More from the brand on our Vans page.
