Update, November 2: Nike’s US SNKRS listing now dates it for Friday, November 13, at $170, so the US gets it three weeks after Europe.
Nike gave the triple-black leather Air Max 90 SP a European launch before a US one. It went on sale on SNKRS UK and SNKRS Spain on Thursday, October 22. The US follows on Friday, November 13, at $170 in men’s sizes.
The 1990 runner, all black
Nike’s description keeps it simple: the Waffle outsole and visible Max Air unit of Tinker Hatfield’s 1990 original, with stitched overlays and textured accents all turned black. The official photos show a smooth leather upper with a stitched Swoosh, perforated leather eyestays and a perforated heel panel. The one break from black is a faint blue tint inside the Air window, visible in Nike’s own shots.
How to get a pair
In the US it’s on Nike’s SNKRS listing for Friday, November 13. Nike’s launch data has it first come, first served.
In Europe it’s already out, on Nike’s SNKRS UK listing and Nike SNKRS Spain. It launched there first come, first served too, not as a draw.
How it went in Europe
An all-black leather Air Max 90 is a wear-every-day pair rather than a collector’s chase. Two days after the European launch, both SNKRS pages were still up. On November 2, Nike’s European stock had 14 of 17 sizes left, most running low. Our estimate put it at the easy end of the hype scale. More from the brand on our Nike page.
