The furry one is out. The Air Force 1 QS “Team Red” went live on SNKRS on Wednesday, October 21, at $140 in men’s sizes 6 to 15.

Pony hair over leather

It’s a standard Air Force 1 Low pattern with almost every panel wrapped in long pony hair over genuine leather, all in one deep Team Red. The hair runs long enough to hang over the midsole on the toe and blur the Swoosh into the side panels. From a few feet away it reads more as a shape than a sneaker.

The smooth parts are where you see the shoe underneath: a leather tongue with a tonal Nike tag and a leather heel tab. The red cupsole has the AIR hit on the lateral heel, and the red outsole the usual AF1 pivot circle. The white Nike logo on the insole is the only break in the red.

It’s a Quickstrike, the tier Nike Sportswear uses for its more limited runs. It landed a day before the NIGO x j-hope AF1 ’01 and two days before the AF1 ’01 “Nightmare”, so it was a busy week for the model.

Can you still get a pair?

Check Nike’s SNKRS listing and Nike’s select stockists before resale, and treat $140 as the number to beat. There’s no SNKRS GB listing, and no UK date or £ price was announced.

How it went

Quickstrike volume is smaller than a general-release AF1. Against that, pony hair is a niche taste, and $140 is $25 over a standard ’07. On November 2, Nike’s US stock still had 16 of 17 sizes, nearly all of them running low.

One practical note: pony hair marks and flattens with wear and doesn’t like rain, so this is a pair to keep for dry days. More pairs from the brand on our Nike page.
