Nike has dated the all-black Air Force 1 ’01 (IV4501-001) for Saturday, October 31 on SNKRS in the UK and Spain: 08:00 GMT at £129.99 in the UK, 09:00 at 139.99 € in Spain.
The US sneaker press has carried it since August without a date, and it isn’t on SNKRS US.
What it is
The ’01 is Nike’s take on the 2001-era Air Force 1 low, and Nike’s launch copy credits it with a slimmer toe box and a thick leather upper. This one is black from top to bottom: Nike lists the colourway as Black/Black/Black, with a full-grain leather upper, a perforated toe box, a foam midsole and the rubber pivot-circle outsole.
In Nike’s photos nothing breaks the black: the Swoosh, the laces, the Nike Air embroidery on the heel and the AIR lettering on the midsole are all tonal.
It follows the Halloween Air Force 1 ’01 “Nightmare”, a SNKRS US release on October 23.
Release date and price
- UK: Saturday, October 31, 08:00 GMT, on Nike’s UK SNKRS listing, £129.99, men’s sizes.
- Spain: the same morning at 09:00 on Nike SNKRS Spain, 139.99 €.
- US: not listed on SNKRS. Sneaker News expects $130 at Nike.com and retailers, with no date yet.
Will it be hard to get?
Unlikely. It’s a plain, non-collab colourway on the SNKRS calendar like any regular drop, which is why it scores 30 on our hype bar (estimated). The reason to pick it over any black AF1 is the ’01 shape and the thick leather. More from the brand on our Nike page.
