06 Detail

Nike has dated the Kobe Dunk Low Protro “Mamba Eterno”, listed by Nike as “Anthracite and Sundial”: the SNKRS listing shows Friday, October 30 at 10:00 ET for $130, style code IQ3922-001. That’s the same morning as the Kobe 3 Low Protro “Mamba Eterno”, and the insoles show the two belong together.

The shoe

It’s a Dunk Low built the Protro way: Nike’s listing describes a drop-in ReactX foam midsole under an upper of Anthracite and Sundial leather. In Nike’s photos the base panels are an orange and red floral jacquard, wrapped in black leather overlays with a worn, crackled finish and topped with frayed black laces.

The Kobe details are all in gold: the sheath logo on the tongue and his signature stitched on the heel tab. Inside, the left insole is purple and the right one green, both with “Mamba Eterno” in script, the name of Nike’s Día de Muertos set for Kobe this year. Nike’s shots also show spare laces in pink, white and black.

It isn’t the model’s first outing. Nike put out a Kobe Dunk Low Protro for WNBA All-Star weekend in July, a black and pink pair at $135, per Sneaker Files. This one comes in $5 cheaper.

Release date and price

  • US: Friday, October 30 at 10:00 ET on SNKRS, $130. That’s 14:00 in the UK.
  • UK and Europe: not dated yet.

Nike’s own product data for the UK and Spain already carries prices, £119.99 and €129.99, but the pair isn’t listed in either store and has no date, and neither Nike GB nor Nike Spain shows it as an upcoming SNKRS launch. Watch Nike GB’s upcoming page rather than assuming it lands the same day.

One pair from the same palette is easier to find in the UK: Pro:Direct, a UK shop, already lists the Kobe Air Force 1 Low in Sail, Hyper Purple and Emerald Green for £110 (IB0018-104). Foot Locker’s US calendar has a Kobe Air Force 1 Low in those colours on October 30 at $125.

Will it be hard to get?

Probably not very hard. The closest comparison is July’s WNBA All-Star Kobe Dunk Low, which StockX showed averaging $134 over three months against its $135 retail, so that pair didn’t need resale to find. This one adds the Mamba Eterno story and drops only in the US for now, which could tighten it a little. Our hype score of 35 is an estimate built on that comparison.

Our earlier Kobe coverage: the Kobe 10 Protro “5AM Flight”. More on our Nike page.

Two Kobe Protros at 10:00 ET on the same Friday means one SNKRS queue each: decide which one matters more before the clock hits ten.
