New Balance’s Kawhi V finally has a date. Foot Locker’s release calendar lists two colorways for Wednesday, October 21, both at $160: the Green/Gold pair (UKLS753) and a Blue/Silver pair (UKLS9Q8). This post follows the green one, with the blue pair covered further down.
The shoe
The Kawhi V is Kawhi Leonard’s fifth signature model with New Balance, revealed back in April. New Balance built it around his first step: a dual-density FuelCell midsole and a forefoot YPlate, under a soft upper meant to hold the foot in place on hard cuts. Leonard is credited as creative director on the shoe’s campaign and worked with the design team on fit.
“I wanted this model to highlight those first steps, that first burst that you feel on the court,” Leonard said in New Balance’s announcement.
It’s a slimmer shoe than the Kawhi 4, especially through the upper, which mixes mesh with TPU overlays that echo New Balance’s older tech runners. The Green/Gold pair is one shade of green from the tongue down, with suede on the heel and a perforated heel panel, a translucent green outsole and a metallic N on the side that reads closer to copper than gold in Foot Locker’s photos. Some outlets call this colorway “Oregano”; New Balance hasn’t published a name, so we’re using Foot Locker’s.
Release date and price
- US: Wednesday, October 21, $160, on Foot Locker’s launch page (men’s sizes, limit one per person). New Balance said in April it would sell the shoe at newbalance.com and select retailers.
- Blue/Silver (UKLS9Q8): same day, same $160, also on Foot Locker’s calendar. It’s a royal blue pair with a silver N; some reports call it “Blue Oyster”.
- UK: no UK retailer has listed it yet, and there’s no £ price.
Will it be hard to get?
Probably not. It’s a general release at a basketball shoe’s usual price, there’s no pre-release resale ask to point to, and two colorways on the same day spread demand. If you want one, Foot Locker’s page is the place to start on Wednesday morning; $160 is the benchmark if you see it elsewhere.
