Update, October 18: the Air Jordan 5 “Halloween” released on Saturday, October 17. On Sunday, Nike’s SNKRS page still showed men’s pairs at $215 with a Buy button, while big kids’ sizes were listed as sold out.
Jordan Brand’s seasonal AJ5 went up on SNKRS in Black and Picante Red, style code HQ7978-001, at 10:00 ET on Saturday, October 17. Men’s pairs are $215.
The shoe
It is close to a blackout. Black nubuck covers the upper, with the netted quarter panels, lace lock, bump-out collar and jagged midsole all kept from the 1990 original. The red is saved for the shark teeth, the Air window, the Jumpman on the outsole and the tongue lining.
The Halloween part is in the trim. Nike’s description calls out glow-in-the-dark details, and the official shots show the embroidered 23, the tongue Jumpman and the Nike Air on the heel picked out in a pale green that reads as glow thread. The outsole is translucent, icy rubber.
Price and where to buy
- US: Nike’s SNKRS listing. Men’s $215, big kids’ $155, little kids’ $95, toddler $80.
- Retailers: select Jordan Brand retailers were reported to carry it. Sizes vary by store, so check their product pages directly.
- UK: it did not appear on SNKRS GB before the drop, and no UK date or £ price was announced.
Some early reports gave $220 and a later October date. Nike’s own listing said $215 and October 17, and that is what it released at.
Can you still get a pair?
This was a full family-size general release through SNKRS and Jordan retailers, so stock was deep by Jordan retro standards. SNKRS is the first place to look for men’s sizes; retailer stock varies by size. If you end up on resale, $215 is the benchmark: a general-release seasonal AJ5 shouldn’t need much more than that.

Kids’ sizes went first: on Sunday the big kids’ run was the one SNKRS listed as sold out.
