Update, October 11: Released on Friday, October 9, on PUMA.com and at select retailers, $120 each. The film opens this Friday, October 16.
PUMA’s three Street Fighter Suedes went on sale together on Friday, October 9, one per character: Ryu in white, Ken in red and Chun-Li in blue. Each is $120 on PUMA’s US site.
Three fighters, three Suedes
PUMA built each pair around its character’s outfit. The Ryu (410647-01) is cream suede with a red Formstrip and black splatter graphics, a nod to his white gi and red headband, and it comes with chunky rope laces. The Ken (410646-01) flips that to red suede with a cream Formstrip and a tan heel panel.
The Chun-Li (410648-01) is the one that breaks from the template. The side panels switch to blue leather lined with gold studs, the toe stays blue suede, and the tongue is a distressed metallic print with gold branding. PUMA calls it the pair “for collectors and fans alike”.
All three share the pack details: a black “World Warrior Tournament” tag clipped to the laces, the fighter’s name printed on the outsole (translucent rubber on the Ken and Chun-Li, cream on the Ryu), and a black collector’s box with a gold medallion and a winged-skull emblem inside the lid.
Price and where to buy

- UK: no UK date or £ price had been announced when we last checked.
Worth it?
The timing is set by the film: Paramount’s live-action Street Fighter opens on Friday, October 16, a week after the shoes, which puts the pack in front of plenty of people who don’t usually buy sneakers.
This is a general release at $120 through PUMA’s own site, not a numbered drop, so you shouldn’t have to pay over retail. More from the brand on our PUMA page.
If you only want one, the Chun-Li has the most going on and is the pair most likely to sell through first.
