The shoe

It’s the loudest AE 3 yet: bright red mesh under a silver metallic cage, with the chevron shapes running from heel to toe, a silver heel clip and outsole, and a black tongue and lining. Red and black for the week of Halloween is not subtle, and isn’t meant to be.

The AE 3 is Edwards’ third adidas signature, reported as the brand’s first basketball shoe with Hyperboost cushioning. It follows the “Cold Blooded” on September 18 and the “Snow Camo” on October 9, both at Foot Locker.

Will it be hard to get?

No. It’s a general release, Foot Locker hasn’t flagged it as a heat drop, and AE signature pairs have tended to sit at or near retail after launch. Our hype score of 24 is an estimate on that basis.

Other adidas releases are on our adidas page, and the rest of the week’s Halloween pairs include the Air Jordan 5 “Halloween” and the AF1 ’01 “Nightmare”.

It lands the same morning as PUMA’s Hali 1 “Pace”, so Friday is a busy one for basketball signatures at $130.
